We had a wonderful time celebrating World Book Week. We love books and this week we got a chance to write and illustrate our own books-we even marbled the covers!Every day we did something special. Here are some photos to show you what we did.
• Monday: Jesse, Leon’s dad, will give master classes in illustrating to all of the children
• Tuesday: We walked down to Dundrum Library. Some of our parents came with us. We looked at books and they read us stories. We had a lovely time, sitting in the sunlight enjoying the books.
• Thursday was great fun for everyone. The children (and staff!) came in dressed as their favourite character from a book. The Parents’ Association invited all the parents to a cake and coffee sale in aid of the school; there was also an adult second-hand books which have been donated by many people will be on sale. To finish off the day, a comic illustrator showed us all how to draw a transformer from scratch!
• Friday: To finish our book week the girls from St. Tiernan’s did buddy reading with us. Senior Infants invited grannies and granddads into the school to tell them stories about their childhood.
